Converting a pool heater from propane to natural gas sounds straightforward on paper. In reality, it's a full-scope job that touches concrete, piping, thread cutting, painting, and surface repair - all of which need to be done correctly or you're looking at safety issues and code problems down the road.

Here's what we were working with: a property that needed a new gas line run from the meter all the way to the pool heater. That meant trenching through the yard, cutting and threading custom pipe sections, running the line along the exterior of the building, and tying everything into the meter with proper fittings and shutoffs. Nothing about this job was off-the-shelf.

What makes this kind of work complicated is the number of trades it actually touches. The concrete had to be cut to get the line where it needed to go, then repaired and patched clean after. The pipe fittings were custom thread-cut on site. All exposed black iron was painted to protect it from the elements. We handled every bit of it in-house - no hand-offs, no subcontractors, no gaps in accountability.

The finished meter connection and piping assembly shows exactly what clean gas work looks like. Every fitting is tight, every valve is accessible, and the whole run is painted and protected. That's not just about looks - it's about doing work that holds up to inspection and keeps running without problems for years.

Gas line work is one of those things where cutting corners isn't really an option. Whether you're converting a pool heater, adding an outdoor kitchen line, or upgrading from propane to natural gas, the job needs to be done by people who understand the full picture - from the trench to the meter to the appliance.
